Wedding Photographer
in Guatemala

Wedding Photographer in Antigua Guatemala: Destination and elopement wedding photographer. Capturing vibrant actions & rich emotions, I preserve the magic of the couple, the devotion of their families, and the emotion of their friends. My photographs will always be focused on creating a relaxed, natural, and fun environment.

As a destination wedding photographer, I have no reason to be tied down to a particular place, because my profession takes me all over the world. But I very intentionally choose to live in Guatemala; not just because I was born here but also for its uniqueness.

Nothing makes me happier than the privilege of calling myself a Guatemalan wedding photographer. While most destination wedding photographers are living in the USA or Europe, being based in Guatemala City has enabled me to explore what I consider to be one of the most unique countries for a destination wedding. From Antigua Guatemala, to Lake Atitlan, Guatemala is a land full of places unspoiled by overexposure on blogs and social media. My goal is to guide you through everything my experience has taught me as a Guatemalan wedding photographer. From wedding location, to the things you should be looking for when hiring a wedding photographer in Guatemala.

I’m are currently based in Guatemala City, 20 minutes from the airport also 20 minutes from Antigua. Also available for travel! Just let me know when and where you’re getting married and I’ll let you know the deets.

Wedding packages start at $3,000, elopements at $2,500, and couples sessions at $1,000.

Totally! However, I only book a limited number of destination sessions each year, so don’t wait too long to reach out!

I love photographs that are emotional and natural. I aim to capture real moments and not stage things to just look pretty on camera. That’s why I love getting to know my couples so I’m not just an outsider trying to look in, but allowing for you to be your true selves on camera.

Haha, of course! My strategy is giving actions rather than putting you into a static pose, and being you something to start with but allowing you to move and flow to capture you in an authentic way. Being photographed can be a little scary at first, but I’ll be sure to make you laugh and help put you at ease!

I do! My elopements start at $1,500, and I especially love adventurous elopements. If you’re the type that isn’t afraid to get your feet wet, I think we’ll be a good fit.

HOW WILL WE RECEIVE OR PHOTOS? I deliver my galleries via a digital link, where you can download your images, share with family and friends, and my photobooks are deliver to your door!

I pride myself in super quick turnaround (I actually just really love editing and can’t wait to edit your photos!) and deliver portrait sessions within a week and weddings within a month. We certainly send you a preview the next day of your session or wedding.

I can absolutely create a wedding album for you! I use a layflat coffee table book design, which makes your images look extra epic. My books start at $450, but email me to share some details on what you’d like to create.

Uhhhhhh, yes! My favorite part about what I do is getting to know my couples, because I love that I get to share in some of the greatest moments of peoples’ lives. It’s an honor for me to create memories for you that you’ll keep forever, and I love hearing back from my couples years down the road!

If you’d like to work together, shoot me an email or message and I’d be happy to answer any other questions! | @camanuelaldanantent

Guatemala has a huge advantage when it comes to the possibilities for year round destination weddings. Wedding seasons in most cities are dictated by the times of the year when the weather is suitable for people to be comfortable outdoors. This rule is broken for elopements, when couples are willing to bear the cold for epic photos, but this usually won’t apply for a destination wedding. This is one of the major advantages for having a destination wedding in Guatemala. Guatemala is called the land of eternal spring. Perfect weather, always. Therefore my season is essentially year round.

The diversity of the beauty in Guatemala is unreal. From the natural beauty of the lakes and volcanos to the man-made beauty in the colonial Spanish-era towns to the ancient ruins of the advanced Mayans to the bustling cities bursting with a culture that’s impossible to ignore, Guatemala is the heart of the Mayan world and it has something for everyone. It’s hard to understand how beautiful Guatemala is for one main reason. I don’t think it’s been explored enough by high profile bloggers and media figures. Because it’s in our backyard, it doesn’t seem exotic enough, which is one reason why it could be underrated. As far as I’m concerned, I’d be more than content if Guatemala stayed under-traveled. The fewer Guatemala wedding photographers, the more opportunities I have to shoot incredible destination weddings in Guatemala!

One way the culture of Guatemala manifests itself is through the number of vibrant colors that fill nearly every square inch of this country. I’ve seen this in other places like Cartagena but it’s far more widespread in Guatemala. For a destination wedding photographer in Guatemala, you couldn’t possibly imagine better backdrops than the colorful towns this country is filled with. It seems like every corner holds a different color wall, like an outdoor studio photographer playground. The amount of variety and options for portraits is a dream, with each charming town presenting a new color palette. For artists and creatives, it’s idyllic but for a wedding photographer in Guatemala, it’s an absolute paradise.

I brought this up earlier when mentioning a few of the pros of having a wedding in Guatemala but it’s hard not to bring up again just how affordable Guatemala really is. I don’t feel bad about encouraging friends to visit because I know how little they’ll spend while they’re here. It’s the same reason I encourage people to have a destination wedding here. I know any couple will have to compromise on far less than what they’d have to compromise for in the United States or Europe. Both the euro and the dollar stretch so much in Guatemala, it’d be hard to imagine having to make many sacrifices because so much more is allowed in your budget. As far as what you get for your money, there are few places that compare to Guatemala that are so accessible to the United States. For example, Bali may be just as affordable but it’s also across the world – there’s a reason I’m a Guatemala wedding photographer rather than a Bali wedding photographer. Lol.

Calling myself a Guatemala wedding photographer was never something I expected. It’s also a part of my life I couldn’t be more grateful for because destination weddings in Guatemala are just as, if not more amazing, than anywhere else in the world. I’m privileged to be a wedding photographer in Guatemala and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else! If you feel the same way about Guatemala, you’re almost guaranteed to have an incredible destination wedding, no matter where or when you end up choosing. Whether you’re a local Guatemalan couple or are coming from somewhere else, you’ve made the right decision by choosing this beautiful country to host your wedding.
